Greenway Renewable Energy Implementation Organization (GREIO) is a registered (No T-S 2575/2025), non-political, and non-profit development organization dedicated to promoting renewable energy, combating climate change, advancing sustainable agriculture and livestock, and fostering a green economy.
Since its inception, GREIO has been working to bring clean energy solutions such as biogas, solar power, and green technologies to rural and climate-vulnerable communities. Our programs emphasize community participation, youth innovation, and women’s empowerment helping people build sustainable livelihoods while protecting the planet.
Through collaborative partnerships with government agencies, development organizations, and private sector innovators, GREIO strives to create a future where renewable energy, climate resilience, and sustainable food systems go hand in hand.
Together, we envision a cleaner, greener, and more equitable world for generations to come.
Greenway Renewable Energy Implementation Organization is a results-driven development organization advancing renewable energy access, climate resilience, and inclusive rural growth across Bangladesh. Aligned with national climate priorities and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), we design and implement scalable solutions that deliver measurable social, economic, and environmental impact.
Bangladesh is at a critical point in its energy and climate transition. Renewable energy currently accounts for approximately 4.5% of the country’s total installed power capacity, while the nation continues to rely heavily on imported fossil fuels. At the same time, Bangladesh holds significant untapped potential in biogas and organic fertilizer production, with only a small fraction of feasible biogas systems installed nationwide.
Against this backdrop, Greenway has established itself as a leading grassroots implementer of biogas and clean energy solutions. To date, we have successfully installed more than 5,000 biogas plants across 28 districts in Bangladesh, directly supporting thousands of households, livestock farmers, and rural enterprises. These systems convert livestock and organic waste into clean cooking energy and bio-fertilizer, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, improving waste management, and lowering household energy costs.
Our work extends beyond energy access. Through sustainable livestock management and smart agriculture practices, we enhance soil fertility, increase farm productivity, and strengthen food security. The integration of bio-slurry into agricultural systems reduces chemical fertilizer dependency while improving long-term soil health.
Greenway places strong emphasis on women and youth empowerment, ensuring inclusive participation in the green economy through skills development, technical training, and livelihood opportunities. Our community development initiatives, combined with tree plantation and environmental restoration programs, contribute to climate adaptation and ecosystem resilience at the local level.
To strengthen long-term impact, we operate the Greenway Climate Training Hub, delivering practical training and awareness on renewable energy, climate action, and sustainable livelihoods. The Greenway Smart Agro Nursery further supports climate-smart agriculture and agro-forestry by providing quality seedlings and promoting sustainable land use.
Through strategic partnerships with donors, development agencies, government institutions, and the private sector, Greenway Renewable Energy Implementation Organization is committed to scaling proven solutions that support Bangladesh’s transition toward a low-carbon, climate-resilient, and inclusive future.
